i hate being in restaurants where loud music is played..especially if its loud SHIT music..i've always wondered, why is the alphabet arranged that way..is it cuz of the song? did you know if your neck circumference is 17ins+ (16ins+ for women)..then chances are, you SNORE..loud..i should know, im 17 half..did you also know if you fill a bath with alcohol and lay in it, your body would suck up the alcy and you'd die of blood poisoning..either that or you'll stink like a tramp..i once read in a public toilet "sometimes i come here to sit and think..instead i come here to shit and stink.."

outside of work: living alone is so boring, all my house mates where away for 2 months..yep, i walked around my house naked..it was cold.. went to german to see my cousin's family, was awesome being an even bigger kid then i already am! i'm an uncle, my sister (who just got married) had a baby boy, 6lbs 6oz..his names are.."oi".."baby".."sshh..stop crying".."ok..stop crying".."mik mik"..and "miguel" apparently i'm meant to be looking for a new place to live..step one, get her to look my auntie has been staying at my moms place for the last month - what do you say to someone who can't speak english?

my sister got married! yep that is my sister - i haven't really spoken her about her on this so yea, this is my sister and her husband Grant..it was a couple weeks back but haven't had a chance to share the good news..wedding was pretty low key and was mainly our family's side and my sisters friends..i think a few of us were getting fucked by the whole "this wasn't done...go do this..go get that..go do this..hurry up.. or maybe it just me `:oT
the weather bright and sunny, the exchanging of vows was pretty awesome, you could see everyone was getting teary eyed and the picture taking came out in full force..oodles and oodles of pictures! sadly, i'm only allowed to show the ones that EVERYONE in the picture likes..which aint many..as a treat you get to see me in a suit!
my cousin's daughters where there, the last time i saw one of em was when she was like 1 years old - and boy did she cried back then `:oD she's so adorable tho..i asked to her "you gonna miss me then?" and she replied "yepp" and then she ran away...or i'd be sitting there watching tv with my elbows on my knees and she squeeze/bear hug my head..and thats her little sister, yea shes hiding acorns in her cheeks

did you know: - my alarm clock can automatically sets it own time..now beat that! see the other week i had to change batteries and i was feeling too lazy to set reset the time, date and alarm, i just did my usual super human ability of willing myself to wake up at a certain time, which sometimes works and other times, i just wake up swearing and rushing to get ready but yea to my own amazement, i got up and the time had already sync'ed somehow!! ashame it can't sync or remember the alarm settings..i even tested it the next day by taking out the batteries again and seeing if it would re-sync the time - and it did!! now how many of your alarm clocks can do that huh?
it was chinese new year celebrations at my place the other day..apparently the local university gave one of the house mates money to buy a shed load of food and to invite the chinese contingency over to our place..it was the usual..sitting around for 3 hours making dumplings..dough, meat, wet, crease, folder, done..oh and the conversation was..was..was pretty dry..seeing as language barrier was a big a fat wall called china *shrungs..it happens but all in all was a good evening tho, our german house mate did he usual trying to get everyone red faced drunk and yep, he was the first off his rocker..supposedly it was meant to be 60+ people coming, turned out to be about 16 in total - big surprise `:oD
in other news (yea boring work) our senior sysadmin is leaving, moving to the other side where the grass is greener and the money is more..the life of a sysadmin is never really done and i said to him "dude, when you leave, everything is gonna go tits up!" and his reply was "don't worry, there is plenty of time to pass down the knowledge" regardless it will prob go tits up anyhow..pretty annoyed he's leaving but it was only a matter of time, i could see it and it's point in my life i don't really wanna see..knowing me, i'd prob just take it on the chin and plus i can't be arsed to job hunt..ever!
for the last week i've been off from work..however im still on the fucking sms list who get alerts when servers are down! i get a txt msg when our important servers get kicked of the tinternet and the few amount of times i get that txt, get to computer, vpn in and have a look at the server and all the sites are already back up, few minutes later i get the txt alert saying the server is back up - its gonna get to a point where im gonna end up ignoring it! but apart from that, this week as been good to me, catching up with the family and neighbours

that was the front of my house..under the bricks are the remains of mine and our neighbour's front gates and wall thingy..i don't actually know what happened, if it was the wind or some drunk fucker or even me - thinking i can hurt bricks but yea, our neighbour knocked on our door and i did the whole "happy new year!! how was your night out?...holy shit!!" a part of me wanted to ask "did you just do that?" but she was a lil dainty to do even harm a wall..plus my land lord is out of england so he can't fix it
so our family christmas lunch was a lil strange plus annoying to say the least this year seeing as the middle sister wasn't there(yes i have a sister - two in fact)..oohh..i didn't mention before, my sister (marianne) and he bf (grant) recently went to south africa..they were going to start their new life together in sa rather than in uk, marianne spoke to all of her friends - those close and those not so close friends and she dropped the news that they'd prob never see eachother ever again, apparently there were tears, a lot of emotions and the whole "i'm sorry that our friendship didn't work out as i'd hope..blah blah"..i took it upon myself to give em some comforting words of advice, seeing as i am so worldly and stuff *wink..it took 3 days of straight talking for them to decide that they will no longer start their new life in sa `:oD mission accomplished baby!! so yea, now when marianne gets back to the uk, shes prob gotta call up her friends again and tell em the good news lol
anyway back to the christmas lunch..well the other sister (maria - yes everyone in our family is "mar" you-couldn't-make-this-shit-up!) brought one of her church friends to our place..now maria moved out of my mother's house to accommodate her church friends who would often came over, to sing and dance, all hours of the day..yep maria is a born again christian and is very religious person..she preaches the gospel to me and does try to force her ideology onto me
so we're about to break bread and maria's friend requests that he would like to say a prayer and thank God for the food etc..and i could not for the life of me keep a straight face, i wanted to laugh..i wanted laugh out loud..plus he couldn't see me as his eyes were closed..usually i'd grin and marianne would see that and would usually bus out laughing before me but yea if its family its aight but if its random strangers then its just plain rude
didn't end either - he later started preaching..now for all you people who really hate religious people getting up in your face and constantly preaching and you prob think they're all crazy..don't automatically turn off..i'm not condoling their actions, i do find it annoying and it does make me wanna argue and yes at times it does really fuck me off, i do disagree that you shouldn't push your own religious views onto others but i do understand..after about an hour of him preaching i did say one thing that did make him stop, i think he realised that he can't save everyone
at the time i couldn't think of a good enough analogy as im not that quick on my feet but i compared his preaching to teaching a kid how to tie his/her's shoe lace..when you teach a kid how to tie their own shoe lace for the first time and they are so happy they can now finally do it on their own, its something they will take with them forever and that feeling that you get of helping is immeasurable..now if you can give that same feeling to all your friends, family and even random strangers (in this case via God), that same feeling is tripled
so the next time you meet a crazy christian, just think of that, try not to bash them but just understand what they are trying to do
barcelona was sO awesome and i couldn't ask for better company `:oD i still do think it was sort lived, it was pretty much 1 day holiday, leave thursday afternoon, get there thursday evening & go out, go out on friday day and catch a flight on saturday midday and back in UK mid afternoon `:oT
first night was great, our hotel had a swimming pool on the roof but yea was a lil cold for that..we found this wicked lil cafe by the bar we were meant to meet up at..the tapas was mouth wateringly delicious and i reckon i could easily blown all my stupid euros on just that!! we went to "The Black Sheep" click here, here still not too sure what type of theme the bar was it was like built into a cave/castle/piece of shit old building with stone flooring and wooden rafters - if there was a viking bar it would prob be something like that, there was as fussball table and a pool table and was overly crowded, i would say there were loads of tourists there so its kinda cheating but was good priced beer a lot of laughs and huge great pitchers!! it was pretty packed and our 90+ strong crew of staff didn't seem to make much of a dent - altho there was one instance where the bar staff told us to keep it down a little..
a few of us left early at like 2:30am cuz we were all pretty much wasted..i was whoopped on the sangria and the rest just wanted to stay behind a try and score with the manchester bird - nicola; i think everyone fell in love with her that night..yea i'm still annoyed i didn't get to speak to her that much cuz we got on really really well when she first came to london a few months ago..got back to the hotel and just chilled with a few friends, my room mate stumbled in at like 4pm
story was that when a bunch of them came back to the hotel in the hours of the morning, they sat around for a bit in the lobby and met a bunch of others who were going out haha
next day started too early but i just didnt wanna miss breakfast, i was still feeling like crap - i didn't even shower, i just put on a hoodie and a hat and went down to eat cuz i knew they'd stop serving..and from the looks of it A LOT of other people did the same - everyone looked shittie and sounded shittie..i did shower when i got back to my room tho..couple of the girls when on their shopping spree and me and a couple other did the tourist and arty farty track..man, i've never been more immersed in an art installation than when i was at this place
it was small for an art museum but i did find it fucking cool..we later went to Temple of the Sagrada Familia here, what really fucked me off was it was half being restored so there was cranes and scaffolding and crap everywhere!!! there's a lift which goes up to 60m and you can walk the extra 30m up and you can either take the lift back down or walk..there's all these signs in a multitude of languages "do NOT go if suffer from vertigo, small spaces etc" - LISTEN TO THEM!! i'm scared of heights..the width of the stairs going up those spirals is about 30" inch wide, which at first didn't annoy me cuz i thought it would be different coming down..it wasn't..the however many steps from the top to the bottom was ridiculous - and the view..i don't even know!! those holes on the sides of the spirals, they face downwards `:oT also walking down is this spiral..which had ONE guide rail on the left and nothing on the other!! oh yes i was shitting myself!!
later that evening we headed to the restaurant for our company meal, it was at Marina Moncho's, we were told, e-mailed, reminded and even texted that the meal was at 7pm..can you guess what time me and about 10 others came in? couple of us got text messages with "where the bloody hell are you?" so yea, we strolled in at 9:20pm just smiling at everyone, few had started but everyone seemed to be happy and we weren't even the last ones there!!! the manchester office came about 20mins after us..so yea, everything was dandy..starters, was again like 7 varieties of tapas - my taste buds were going crazy, it really was sO goooooood, those mini meals of goodness are amazing..it was a ashame tho that the main meal itself was a bit bland..we had paella - mixed, seafood and veg...i cained my mixed paella..then had someone else's seafood paella then i realised that they both tasted as bland and boring as each other `:oT but hey i still ate it..i kept freaking out kate cuz we had some squid and i'd be biting or cuting off the little sucker and chewing on em or puttin em on my tongue and showing her `:o) she's not a big fan of squid and she kept proding he cutlet and complaining that "food shouldn't bounce like that!! its wrong!! its just wrong!"

just a few weeks ago i got a better insight into parenting, way different from the usual baby sitting i've done in the past or just looking after friends of the family's kids, this one was like..like..i dunno..just different..a good different..i could totally give up everything, the infancy of my career path, my non-existent social life, even my not so close friends..but then she started crying and thought aahh shit fuck this!! kidding!!! she's adorable, this is Caitlyn and her mother Charlotte..the blur is me (yes she is pushing her bottom lip out cuz me and her were pulling faces at eachother)
she's just two years old, when she was drinking juice and she spilt it and she says "oh no..mess mess"..she runs away to get the box of wet wipes, brings the box back to the table, presses the button and takes ONE, not even a load of them at once but just one wet wipe and she begins shining the table top and floor of where she spilt her juice, how cute is that!! she randomly says "bia bia" in her little munchkin voice to people in the street as they walk by..its cute

so i was in Paris the other weekend for a company trip/company crimbo celebration and it was fucking awesome!! im assuming everyone else across the world would probably go there for a romantic/dirty weekend and visit the sites and experience paris as a loving place..but nah..we did the whole british thing and its prob the worst reason to go paris..we went there to get pisted up!!! we all got too drunk and messy `:oT we were told in an e-mail "alcohol is not permitted on the Euro star, they may refuse you to board - DO NOT BRING ANY!!" like serious shit so what everyone did, was wrapped up a couple of bottles of wine, whisky and bottles of beer in christmas wrapping paper..most def, works a treat `:oD
you never guess what..well, seeing it concerns work, it's prob the second thing that comes to mind..my line manager got fired today!! and to think, he was thinking of buying a new house..it wasn't no 3 strikes and you're out - more like "you aint working hard enough, you're out"..now off the top of my head, there has been 8 people to leave/fired (including the two from the 03092005 entry) and one of the remaining sysadmin will be leaving at the end of the month and guess what - he asked me to join him at his new company!! its a completely different sector and i don't know what do do!!!! right now i LOVE the media world and the relaxed environment
i like: how i can come in late and no one is on my case, how i can have a fair amount of cigarette breaks, how i get to wear shit clothes and no one batters an eyelid, how i can come in and make a bowl of cereal and eat at my desk in the morning, how music is played throughout the day even when you're on the phone, how i can joke around with the technical directors and call em "knob heads" and "bell ends" and they don't take it to offense, how we have a pool table in our office, how we name our web servers, backup servers funny names (i'll explain this one day - it really does deserve its own entry), how i can have items sent to work (yes we do that, one of the sys admin ordered an oscilloscope - oh yes WTF for? i unno), how theres no office politics bullshit (yea, people who get sent home to wearing the wrong colour shirt) my messy desk
altho those are only the good things, there are bad things to but not really enough to make me want to leave (on my own accord of course), this new job is for some software company and it sounds all corporate and shit and its based in the city (right now im based in the west end) and i'm not really feeling suits and ties and shit, the whole formal thing - but in terms of career development and learning curve of sys admin, its most def worth considering..and after hearing from a young professional who's in a corp environment - she wants to move to the media division of her company, it makes me re-think again..then i re-think it all over and i might just have to suck it up, deal with wearing formal shit 24, working in a corp environment and being serious `:o(
and then again i've got the rest of my life to be mature..why start now?
anyone seen those new marlbro light boxes that look like a huge lighter?? i think they look freaky cool, the r&d and marketing dept did a good job i reckon..
so anyways, work is...aarrrrggghhh...work is work - i'll write no more about it, seems all my entries are about work, its like all i do but then again i do have a simple life..can you believe i actually did something this weekend!!!! oh yes and it didn't include my washing/food shopping..it was a friend's birthday, i was totally expecting it to be really, really dry & boring and i was probably gonna have to pretend i was having a good time and even force a couple "OOHH MY GOSH!!! HOW ARE YOU!!!!" and couple fakes smiles here and there but you know what...i really did enjoy myself!!! we went karaoke..and yes i did sing..well tried to - and i wasn't even drunk..i ordered some crap pizza that tasted like...like crap but hey, the night was good and the company was even better..we went to some random bar to get hammered
im going paris!!!! with work!!! more news on that once i get more news..oh and i really have to show this quick quiz that was sent to sysadmin from one of the technical directors, as the address says - holymoly yo!!!
